WA Cultural Responsiveness Workshop

Cultural Responsiveness Workshop

It is essential that all professionals that work in the health and education system in Australia are culturally responsive in order to positively affect the health and well being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This workshop conducted by Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) is about building culturally responsive capabilities in order to have culturally safe and responsive relationships with and provide services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Learning Objectives:

  • Engage in self-reflection about cultures, personal beliefs, assumptions, values, perceptions, attitudes and expectations and impact on relationships;
  • Increase understanding of how effective leadership can facilitate change and transform approaches to your practice that builds cultural safety; and
  • Explore ways of knowing, being and doing that will enhance ability to be cultural responsive
  • Develop an action plan to drive your transformation in practice and behaviours.
