Speechie Library Talks 2020
Speech Pathology Australia is excited to be hosting the inaugural Speechie Library Talks campaign that will highlight the role of speech pathologists in children’s language and literacy development.
Speechie Library Talks will facilitate connection between speech pathologists and their local public or school library, in a series of events to be held in November 2020 to coincide with the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year award celebrations.
By connecting speech pathologists with their local public or school library, and the broader community, the campaign aims to raise awareness about:
- the role of speech pathologists play in developing children’s language and literacy;
- the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards; and
- how library resources can play a part in building language and literacy.
Speech Pathology Australia is collaborating in the campaign with the Australian Library Information Association.
Parents, carers and others interested in children’s language and literacy development are invited to attend a talk (and book reading) at their local library to find out more about how they can help their child.
How to get involved - register your interest
Members of speech pathology Australia interested in hosting Speechie Library Talks in November, at their nominated school or public library, should register their interest online.
