Foundational Supports and
Thriving Kids

Foundational Supports is a proposed system of supports that will sit outside of the NDIS. 

Thriving Kids is one aspect of the system of Foundational Supports, and is proposed to be for Autistic children and children with developmental delay aged 0-8 with mild and moderate support needs. 


How SPA is representing you
  • We have used your feedback, survey responses and direct contacts to develop a set of key principles and conceptual model for these supports
  • Working with government officials and decision makers in each state and territory and federal departments to influence the development of Foundational Supports and Thriving Kids
  • Advocating for continued access to care, so that no child falls through the cracks, including:
    • Speech pathologists to be embedded within Foundational Supports, including Thriving Kids.
    • The need to utilise the full breadth of the workforce, including the mainstream, non-government and private sectors.
    • An ecosystem of supports that includes family supports and direct supports for the child that integrate with mainstream services.
